New deliveries – new catenary vehicle for Europten

Our customer Europten has received 2 new catenary maintenance vehicles. The vehicles were built on a Mercedes Benz Arocs 8x4 with front steering axle. Both vehicles have a rail drive system consisting of 2 bogies with 4 hydrostatic driven axles. The axles are equipped with special wheel adaptors that allow to change the track gauge from 1435mm to 1000mm for operation in Switzerland. Also the bogies are equipped with magnetic brakes which enable the vehicles to drive in slopes up to 80 ‰. The superstructure consists of a PK15002 crane with cage module, a Hilton 110T telescopic boom, a loading platform and a catenary height measurement system. On the second vehicle a PFD79 wire positioner and a measuring pantograph is included as well. The vehicles have been delivered fully certified for operation in Germany (DB), Austria (ÖBB) and Switzerland (SBB+RhB). The next 3 vehicles are already in production and will follow shortly.
